Following Christ
To prepare young people to affirm their baptism and become adults in the church. All students entering 7th grade are invited; youth who are a little younger or older are welcome as well. Parents often serve as small group leaders, chaperones, or special guests, and help provide resources and guidance along the way.
CLC's Confirmation program is a two-year process (usually in 7th and 8th grade) of education, service, and fellowship opportunities. Solid participation for the whole process is expected! We combine with St. James and Immanuel Lutheran Churches in Jackson for "CSI Confirmation" so that confirmands get full, well-rounded preparation. In May of their second year, confirmands go through the Rite of Confirmation at a special worship service, where they affirm their baptism, share a Bible verse that reflects their faith, receive the prayers and support of the church, and are welcomed as adult members.  |
